Simple Wedding Ideas – 5 Simple Wedding Ideas for Money Savings

Romantic Wedding IdeasCreating your perfect wedding is expensive and not to mention stressful. These simple wedding ideas can help keep the expenditures low. I have for you 5 tricks to make your big day less expensive and run smoother

1. An innovative idea is to have wedding cupcakes instead of a cake. They can be as elegant as a cake without having to dig deep into your pockets.

2. Save yourself money by making your own wedding invitations. The cost has sky rocketed and mailing each one isn’t the bargain it used to be. Make your own beautiful and unique invitations, even include your friends for fun and savings.

3. Design and make your own decorations and bouquets. Don’t shy away from this idea thinking that it is too much work. Again with some help from your friends it can be fun and inspiring. Simple is also the key. White candles with embedded pearls and ribbons on them. Even floating candles in a bowl of water with flowers can be a fast, easy and a stylish addition. And for your bouquets, silk calla lilies or any flower you like is just as beautiful as a real, and expensive, bouquet. Plus it will last a lifetime!

4. Instead of a guestbook take a picture of the bride and groom and put it in an autograph frame. Guests will have fun leaving little notes in the margins. A creative idea that looks great. If you have a guest book it will more than likely be put in a keepsake box and you will hardly ever see it. But with a picture frame it can be hung on the wall with other wedding photos and admired for years to come.

5. Shop around for a better wedding date. Saturdays are the most popular and therefore the most expensive. Book your venue for a Friday or Sunday. Day weddings are less expensive and the lighting is better for pictures.

Applying these ideas can save you a lot of money. You will also be excited knowing you saved big bucks on your perfect wedding.

Have a Funny Wedding Idea

Romantic Wedding IdeasThe simplest way to make your wedding memorable is to plan it around some unique wedding theme. Some of the most popular themes these days are butterfly wedding theme, tropical wedding theme, sunflower wedding theme as well as themes based on seasons such as fall wedding themes, spring wedding themes and summer wedding themes. Once you decide on the wedding theme, all other things such as decorations, invitations, food, music, etc., should revolve around it. Besides choosing an interesting theme, there are a number of other things that you can do to make your wedding even more fun. Given below are some of the most fun wedding ideas. Arrange for a Wedding Candy Buffet Since a marriage in a way symbolizes the couple’s transformation from being footloose to being responsible, one of the apt ways to say goodbye to one’s “childhood” is to arrange for a wedding candy buffet. The wedding candy buffet should be planned in accordance with the wedding colors and theme. Keep candies of different colors in containers of numerous sizes and shapes. To decorate the wedding candy buffet, keep floral arrangements, pillar candles as well as the couple’s childhood photographs all around it. A good idea for wedding favors would be to keep empty containers on the side and have the guests pick their own candies to take home with them.

A Family-made Wedding CakeInstead of just ordering a wedding cake, ask your close friends and family to bring home-made pastries and baked goods for you. These family made offerings can be arranged nicely to look like a cake at your wedding reception. Keep a note on the side for the rest of the guests, explaining them how the cake was made. It will indeed be something you will remember for the rest of your life!

Involve the Guests in Unity CeremonyA modern version of wedding traditions such as a unity ceremony can be included in the wedding to make it a unique experience. An interesting wedding unity idea is to give all the guests unlit candles. Thereafter, when the unity ceremony is about to proceed, the oldest guest present at the wedding is given a lit candle. From this candle, the flame is passed on from one guest to another, even as the bride and the groom themselves lit their unity candle. Through this ceremony, the bride and the groom are in a way seeking the blessings of all the guests present at their wedding.

Plan a Beach WeddingOne of the cheap fun wedding ideas is to have a beach wedding. In a beach wedding, the environment around – the sunset, the sea and the waves surfing up the sand noisily, are more than enough to mesmerize your guests so you do not need to plan extensive wedding decorations, cutting down immensely on your cost. On top of that, there is nothing more romantic than a couple taking their wedding vows amidst the splendid natural environs. An interesting beach wedding idea is to use things like marbles, pearls, prompts of star fishes and dolphins, seashells, driftwoods, oars, etc. – anything that one associates with sea to decorate the venue. http://www.dresses-shopping.com/Celebrity-Dresses/

Bridal Lanterns in place of BouquetsAnother of the fun wedding reception ideas is to have the bridesmaid as well as the bridegroom hold glittering, decorative lanterns as the bride walks up the aisle. Later the very lanterns can be given to them as gift. Such lamps can really lit up the wedding venue, especially if the wedding is in the night. They can make your wedding vows ceremony look dazzling and special!

Here’s hoping that these fun wedding ideas will serve as an inspiration when you set out for wedding planning. One last tip on making your wedding even more entertaining and memorable for the guests – assign each of the tables a song. Whenever that song is played, the guests on that table have to get up and dance. This would ensure maximum participation translating into maximum fun at your wedding!

Article by Caitlina Fuller

While contemporary wedding dresses are fine and beautiful, vintage wedding dresses add a special element to any wedding. The typical bride today is choosing to shop for a vintage dress as it offers an old fashioned, charming effect to the ceremony.

If you love quality clothing, then you know that sometimes new wedding dresses that are designed nicely have something that is not quite right, or something missing. Perhaps it is the use of inexpensive material or maybe the dress was not sewn well. Whatever the reason, some of the most expensive, modern wedding dresses are just not pleasing to the eye.

If you go with a vintage wedding dress on the other hand you are all but assured of good quality. The vintage wedding dresses being sold in high-end boutiques and on the internet were made during a period in time when every last detail was attended to. You can easily find dresses that date back to the early 1900s, which were worn once and then stored away properly so that they are as good as new. You can find designer originals created by the likes of Kathleen Kennedy or Chris Hudson Couture which feature antique lace and wonderful floral designs. Imagine how lovely your wedding photo will look when you are dressed from head to toe in one of these original gowns that often come with beautiful under-slips to complete the look.

Some of the most popular types of vintage wedding gowns being worn today are Edwardian style gowns. This type of gown features a high lace neckline and a large front lace yoke. The finest laces are used on the mutton-style sleeves and cuffs and the bodice is normally fitted through the waistline. Not only will your wedding pictures look amazing when you are wearing this type of gown but you will look absolutely spectacular as you walk down the aisle to exchange vows with the man of your dreams.

If you choose to shop online for vintage wedding gowns you can also enjoy looking through the vintage bridal lingerie, veils, shawls, capes and stoles. If your wedding budget permits you could even opt for some wonderful vintage bridal accessories such as lovely antique necklaces and anklets. There are many retailers on the web who offer vintage wedding clothing so be sure to set enough time aside to look through many of the sites. The offerings are breath-taking and the prices vary widely. There is so much to choose from today if your dream is to have a truly vintage style wedding.

Wedding Theme Ideas: How to Pick the Right Theme For Your Wedding

Article by Amy

Coming up with a wedding theme is one of the first steps in planning a successful wedding. There are already so many wedding theme ideas that are available for a couple to choose from that finding the right one should not be difficult. When selecting a theme, it’s important to consider the location, how many people are going to be in attendance and budget.

Wedding theme ideas should reflect the interests and personalities of both the bride and the groom. Themes are great, because it makes the planning process easier and more enjoyable. Making decisions become simple, because you when you focus on a theme you know exactly what you want for things like wedding invitations, wedding cake and the decorations. Your guests also get to experience a wedding that is a little out of the ordinary.

There are wedding theme ideas that revolve around different colors. These types of weddings are relatively easy to plan, all you need to do is make sure the color of your choice is prominently displayed at both the ceremony and reception. Pick out flowers, use table settings, and find other decorations in that specific color. There are plenty of ways to incorporate that color in almost every aspect of your wedding.

Other popular wedding themes are based on the different seasons of the year. Spring, summer, fall and winter, there is something special about each season. The key to properly encompassing the season as your theme is to use the appropriate colors to represent the season as well as serve foods that are fresh during that time of year.

Other great wedding theme ideas include specific destinations. You can either arrange to have the wedding at a garden, a beach or resort, or bring the destination to you by using props and other creative decorations. Let’s say you want to capture the magnificence of Paris for your wedding, but you are unable to actually have the wedding there. All you need to do is add some signature Parisian elements to the decor, use well-known flowers from France and give out cute French inspired wedding favors.

Set your wedding to a certain time in history, that’s another idea that has been popular. There have been plenty of wedding themes that try to recreate different time periods. If you are interested in having a medieval wedding, try booking the venue at a castle. If you want your wedding to have an old Victorian feel, make sure there is plenty of lace on your wedding dress and serve your guests tea from fancy tea sets.

There are countless other wedding themes for you to choose from. Cultural themes are great if one or both of you have a strong cultural background with its own wedding traditions. You can have a modern wedding, but still add some of those traditions to the ceremony. There are fairy tale themes which are no doubt on the top of many brides’ lists. For the environmentally conscious couple, an eco-friendly theme would be perfect. Just remember to pick a theme that is a good representation of you and is one that your guests will enjoy.

Planning A Western Wedding

September 7, 2011 by

Article by Stephanie Elms

Planning a western wedding can be a very fun and unique way of tying the knot. You can go to various extremes with this theme, it all depends on how far you allow your imagination to take it. Gettin hitched, western style, can be very elaborate and country or very traditional embodying the old west in a more elegant fashion.

If you really want to go all out with the theme, then consider infusing western flair into the location and even transportation rather than just in the decorations and food. Here are some ideas you can use that symbolize the western theme.

* Location – Consider an outdoor wedding, maybe a state park or even a barn setting. Getting close to nature is key and allows for more western touches such as horses for entry and exit of the wedding, as well as use of hay bails for seating. If you don’t want an outdoor wedding, seek out a historic church or other historical setting.

* Transportation – Of course you should consider involving a horse somehow. If you are opting for a more country style wedding, then entering on a horse is nice but if you prefer the more traditional approach maybe opt for a horse drawn carriage. Also, a horse and carriage is very romantic, perfect for a wedding. For guests or the wedding party you can use a hay ride.

* Seating – Some western wedding go for the simplicity of hay bails for guests to sit on. If utilizing this option put some material over the top to prevent discomfort for your guests during the ceremony. Other ideas if you use chairs or pews in keeping with the theme would be to use raffia or gingham pattern bows.

* Photography – You may want to use a photographer that does some black and white prints, as well as some old fashioned looking photos. A great idea for bridal portraits is to have the bride in her dress and cowboy boots, and hat is preferred, climbing up an old windmill looking down at the camera holding her dress up slightly revealing her boots. I say this picture once and it was beautiful and whimsical that I haven’t forgotten it.

* Invitations – You can choose more rustic paper and even make the invitations like a scroll that would have been delivered by the pony express. Incorporate pictures and graphics of western style and utilize words that reveal your theme such as “gettin hitched”, “tying the knot”, or even a more popular saying “gettin r done”.

* Flowers – Simple is probably the best bet here. Wildflowers or bluebonnets are beautiful but you can even use roses for a very romantic feel.

* Food – Steak and potatoes are always western but maybe you want to opt for barbeque instead. If you want to be more elegant you can do a roast and grilled chicken with vegetables.

* Decorations – Items such as raffia, gingham patterns, or even bandanas can be used with the napkins. Lacy materials are good if going for the more old world elegant western theme. Even the dishes and glassware can have a western feel. Centerpieces are an easy way to create theme. Maybe you could use an old western boot filled with flowers. Also, the sign in book and unity candles can help add to the theme.

* Favors – Favors can really add flair and you can be very creative. Some ideas I have seen used for favors are bottles of barbeque sauce with cute personalized labels, western themed coasters, western candles, shot glasses, cowboy cookies, and even branding irons with the new couple’s initials. Cowbells can even be neat because the guests can ring them as the couple rides away. Maybe wrap small bags of “feed” that guests can toss as the couple leaves.

* Wedding attire – This can really set the stage for the theme because it can be very formal with a cowboy tuxedo with a bow tie or informal with jeans vests, boots, and cowboy hats. Consider having other members of the wedding party wear a different color hat, vest, or bow tie to distinguish the groom. For the bride and her party, a formal look should include a lacy dress. It can be very Victorian if you prefer. Cowboy boots also add that perfect western touch, as well as a feminine hat with veil attached.. For the bridal party, consider western skirts, denim for the less formal, with lacy shirts.

* Cake – A great western style cake is usually very simple. Decorating with wild flowers, horse shoes, or a unique western cake topper is often very classy.

* Reception – You can really go as big as you want with the reception. The music should encourage the theme and to go really over the top you may host a fake gun show. One fun way to do this is to have a pretend dual between the groom and an “old flame” (of course the groom wins). You can even have guests join the theme and dress up in costumes supporting the theme. This is particularly fun if hosting an old west wedding. Obviously a dance is a must in any western wedding. It can be the traditional country or even square dance.

No matter the theme, the important thing is that the wedding is a true reflection of the couple getting married. It’s a day to share with the world your joyous celebration and give them a peek into the personality of your relationship.

Wedding Ceremony Idea

Article by Lisa Harris

In planning your wedding you will probably be looking for that one key wedding ceremony idea that makes each part of the ceremony perfect. There are a lot of questions you may be asking about the schedule, seating, music, and typical etiquette that surround the ceremony itself. When you have finished reading the tips below you will be ready to plan a wedding ceremony that everyone will remember.

I Have Heard That A Wedding Should Start Thirty Minutes After the Scheduled Time, Is this True?

Contrary to what you may have heard, it is never cool to make your guests wait for your ceremony to begin. The practice of asking guests to arrive before you are going to actually start the ceremony is intended to account for those guests who are habitually late. However, being late to your own ceremony is very rude to the guests who have shown enough respect to show up on time. Don

Wedding Bouquet Ideas – Silk Bouquet Options

September 3, 2011 by

Article by Robert Henson

Silk flowers for wedding bouquets are a nice alternative to fresh flowers. They last much longer, which makes them a pleasant memento of the big day for years after the event. However, it can be difficult to come up with design ideas for silk bouquets. The Internet is a great source for wedding bouquet ideas. A simple entry into a search engine can provide a wealth of descriptions and galleries for the bride-to-be to explore. Wedding message boards can also provide a helpful place for brides to discuss their flowers and share their ideas with each other.

Another way to gather wedding bouquet ideas is to visit flower shops. The shop employees can make silk bouquets based on the customer’s desires and needs. Flower shops would also have a portfolio of bouquets they can create or make variations of, and some might even have a designer on site to assist the bride in putting together an original bouquet. The best thing to do would be to contact some local florists and see what services they offer in their shops. By calling ahead, the bride-to-be will also know if appointments need to be made ahead of time.

Artistic brides can use their wedding bouquet ideas to design and create their own flower arrangements. By creating their own silk wedding bouquets, brides can have an even higher level of involvement in planning their wedding. Individual silk flowers are readily available in a number of common discount and craft stores. These artificial flowers are both affordable and beautiful and will add a personal touch to the wedding. Brides will also have even more special memories of preparing for their wedding day by crafting their own bouquet. Making a bouquet instead of purchasing one will also allow more money to be spent on another aspect of the wedding.

The seasons are also an interesting inspiration for wedding bouquet ideas. Silk bouquets can be made from flowers that are in bloom during the season of choice, or even just in the colors one sees in a particular season. For example, a fall wedding bouquet might include red and gold colored flowers, or a spring one may have pastel pink and yellow flowers. Summer bouquets would be full of dazzling, bright colors. Dahlias and roses are fashionable flower selections for fall bouquets, and tulips and hyacinths are popular choices for spring flowers. Roses and lilies are often seen in summer bouquets.

Cheap Wedding Flowers? These Ideas Can Save You 50% And More

April 13, 2011 by

You have probably already got a great list of ideas for saving on your wedding flowers. The most common idea I hear is looking for wholesale flowers and doing the work yourself.

I agree that is a great way to save money, especially if you have very artsy friends who can help you with organizing the flowers and picking out flowers.

Here are two ideas for you that will help you cut your flower costs by 50%, maybe even more! This is especially helpful if you do engage the services of a florist and need to cut some costs.

Sharing The Costs To Ge Cheap Wedding Flowers

If you book your wedding on a weekend, there is a potential of up to four other brides having their wedding on the same weekend. You have potential bookings for:

Friday NightSaturday Morning/AfternoonSaturday NightSunday Morning/AfternoonSunday Night

You can see where I am going with this already.

Contact all brides having their wedding on the same weekend and see if any of them are interested in sharing the same flowers, centerpieces, and decorations and also split the cost. You probably can’t split the cost of the bride’s bouquet if you’re doing a bouquet toss. And depending on themes and colors you may not be able to share everything, but it definitely is worth the time to find out.

If you can share with just one other bride, that is a 50% savings on what you can share. Two other brides is a 66% savings. And so forth. That is what I call cheap wedding flowers!

Not to mention brides who are booking “off-time” (any other time than Saturday night) most likely do so because they are on a budget. These brides will be open to ideas for reducing their costs even more!

Getting in touch with the other brides:

The venue coordinator will be the person to ask for about this. They may not be ready to give the information right away. It will be a good idea to build a relationship first with this person.

Then, while discussing your catering for the venue or some other aspect, you can mention you are interesting in cutting your costs and then seeing if one of the other brides on that weekend can share the flower costs with you. At the very least she may contact them on your behalf without giving away the contact info.

You can even imply that cutting costs on the flowers will let you spend more on the catering menu!

Just to set your expectations after hearing about this idea I have not yet personally had any success with getting this type of thing set up. But, again, it never hurts to ask (just like the rest of your wedding vendor negotiations) and if it does happen, it’s a pretty big payoff!

Donation Of Flowers

Look for a non-profit organization to donate your flowers to. If you find one you could potentially write off the cost of your flowers as a donation. I hope you read that right: you could possibly write off the cost of your flowers as a donation. I just heard about this tip and am anxious to try it myself! Consult your tax accountant first for more advice!

Good luck! More cheap wedding flowers ideas to come
