Tips How To Have A Budget Wedding

While every single girl will want their wedding day to be the most perfect day of their life, many will have to to settle for something that did not jump straight out of a storybook.
Weddings are extremely expensive, and with all of the different costs that make up any wedding, people can actually end up going into debt for one single day of celebration. However,it is certainly possible to have a wedding without having to spend ridiculous amounts of money.
As such, here are some tips for inexpensive weddings.
The first thing that you should be doing is working out every single aspect of the wedding. This will include renting out the location, transport, catering to all of the guests, the flowers, the invitations, and everything else involved. You also need to figure out how much each of these are likely to cost and work out your exact budget for everything involved.
Once you have done this you will be able to look for different ways of cutting costs and you should try to do this for every single aspect of the wedding that you have written down. While you will certainly not want to lose out on too much quality, you have to accept a slight diminishment of this in order to save the money that you need and get to your desired budget.
One of the main costs that will be involved in the wedding will be the location of the venue. Renting out a lavish hotel for the reception is something that can cost a great deal of money and therefore you should look to negotiate as much as you can in order to get a cheaper venue for the occasion.
Depending on the size of the wedding, you might even be able to choose someone’s back garden in order to hold the reception, or if you know someone who owns a pub then perhaps approach them about the option of renting their place out at a discounted cost.
You can also save money on decorations and flowers. If you are getting married in a church then you can ask about any decorations that they might have that they use for other weddings. When it comes to decorating the reception venue you can certainly choose certain decorations that are a lot less expensive if you spend some time shopping around.
The flowers that you get can really mount up in cost. One good option is to consider the idea of getting artificial flowers. It might be a good idea to get some bouquets of real flowers and place them in certain positions where they are more likely to be seen, and you can poke up the other areas with artificial options.
Of course, you can pretty much cut down on your costs when you think about any aspect of the wedding. Such things as getting a friend to drive you to the church and to the reception rather than hiring them, or looking for a discounted dress rather than that perfect one you are looking at, will help you to save money overall.
At the end of the day, you have to remember that it is the actual marriage that is the most important thing, and while it may not have been the wedding of your dreams, it will certainly be a day you will remember for the rest of your life.

Budget Wedding Planning – 8 Ways To Cut Officiant Fees
September 27, 2012 by
Article by Becky McLaurin
Wedding Officiant fees can include a wide range of services and depend greatly on the type of professional you choose. Officiants who perform civil ceremonies tend to charge the least because they don’t do a whole lot other than performing the service.
Clergy officiants on the other hand tend to charge much more. This is because there may be premarital counseling, planning sessions, time spent at the rehearsal, and perhaps travel to and from the ceremony site. It’s quite possible that there may be one fee for the service and extra fees for the other components.
You can help contain any extra fees that your officiant may charge by asking the following 8 questions:
1. Is the fee you quoted a package fee? If so, what does the package include?
Be sure to write down all that is included. How many planning meetings, maximum mileage, any time limits they may impose on the rehearsal or ceremony. Be sure to ask if the fee also includes the organist or singers. If not, find out how much those costs will be.
If your officiant is responsible for setting up the organist and singers, be sure to find out if the package includes the cost of these folks, or if the fee included is simply and administrative fee for lining them up.
2. Can I remove some of the services in your package to save money?
Some officiants are wiling to provide a discount if some of the services if you are not interested in them. But in most cases, there will be no discount. In fact, you may end up paying more! For example, some churches charge an extra fee if you want to bring in your own musicians.
3. What happens if you are unable to make the ceremony?
Let’s face it. People get sick. People have emergencies. Officiants are no different than you or I in this sense. Be sure to ask about a backup plan in the event your chosen person can’t be there. If it can be arranged, be sure to meet with the back up officiant.
4. Do you charge extra for additional planning meetings that may be necessary? How about extra counselling sessions or if the rehearsal or ceremony goes longer than planned?
Knowing the answers to these questions is really important so that you don’t run into an uncomfortable situation later on when you are presented with a bill that’s much higher than you expected.
5. Do you charge extra for customizing our ceremony?
Many officiants will allow you to choose from several ceremony structures, or readings. However, others will offer a standard ceremony and will charge extra for any changes
6. Do you charge for things like phone calls or email replies?
Don’t laugh. Some officiants charge by the hour and will include time spent on phone calls and emails. The more time they spend on you, the more it’s going to cost you. Not a bad thing, but you’ve got to know what the story is before hand.
7. Do you require a deposit? If so, how much?
Most officiants will charge you a 50% deposit, with the balance due on your wedding day. Others will want the full payment up front. Make sure you get their terms in writing and be sure to get a receipt for any payments.
8. What is your refund policy?
As with everything you do that pertains to your wedding, you’re going to want to make sure you are aware of the refund policy, if there is one. What if you change you mind about this particular officiant? Or what if the wedding is postponed or cancelled? Know the answers to these questions before paying any money to you selected officiant and you’ll avoid a potential unpleasant situation later one.

How To Photograph A Wedding Reception

In this article I offer tips and suggestions as how to photograph a wedding reception and achieve professional looking results. Make sure to get a variety of shots. This may seem like a no brainer but so much goes on at the reception. In addition, a lot planning has gone into making the reception a reality. So plan to record everything from the smallest detail, to an overview of the entire reception.Table centerpieces, guest seating cards, guest favors, the buffet, the cake table, from behind the cake table, showing off the reception room, the guest book table, any other decorations, the entry way to the reception, and various overviews of the entire room. Then of course you have all the possible bride and groom photos: talking, laughing, hugging their guests, showing off the rings, sitting at the head table (try some shots from behind when they lean over to talk to each other or a close up of the bride’s hand on her groom’s shoulder, etc.), cutting the cake and feeding it to each other, dancing, garter & bouquet toss, the farewell. As you can see there are lots of important shots. As soon as I’m able, I like to check in with the reception DJ. There are several reasons for this. One, they typically have the time line for the reception. I’ll take a look to see if all the important events will be occurring within the couple’s package time. If not, I know that I may need to touch base with the bride to see if she wants me to stay longer. In some cases, the DJ can nudge the time line a little if he knows we need to get certain things taken care of by a specified time. Two, the DJ, just like the florist, caterer, or planner is another wedding vendor to connect with. Some of my best referrals come from other wedding vendors – even fellow photographers. Network with these people – they can be gold to your business. It’s also a pleasure to return the favor and refer one of your couples to your favorite DJ.I love outdoor wedding receptions – you typically have an abundance of light, more room to move around and the settings tend to be beautiful – country clubs, vineyards, and garden weddings! However, as the light tends to fade, there is potential to run into trouble. Let’s go over a few tips to help make your outdoor wedding reception run smoothly. The beginning of the reception typically consists of the bride and groom mingling with their guests, either during a cocktail hour or after they eat. This is a great opportunity for some wonderful images – hugging their guests, showing off the ring, talking and laughing. But you don’t want to be too close – it’s not a group hug after all. One, the larger the aperture, the more light comes into the lens meaning you can work with less light as it gets darker. Two, the larger the aperture, the less depth of field you have. If you look at a photograph where everything is in focus, the eye tends to bounce around, not knowing where to land. When you look at an image with a short depth of field, your subject stands out and the background is slightly out of focus. Your eye immediately goes to the subject. When considering how to photograph a wedding reception, keep in mind these simple yet effective tips. There are so many wonderful moments at a wedding reception. Try to capture as many as you can.

Wedding dresses stand out due to the different silhouettes they have. Before thinking of anything else, try to think of a wedding gown that can flatter your figure and highlight your best assets. Instead of looking for pictures of dresses worn by professional models, look for pictures of real women wearing beautiful gowns on their wedding day.
Bridal gowns with full skirts will look good on any body type. However, brides with small frames will look shorter and smaller in these ball gowns. A-lines are perfect for those who want to hide chunky thighs and hips without wearing a heavy ball gown. Finally, empire waist gowns with skirts that fall right below the breasts are perfect for semi-casual and tropical weddings.
Shop within your budget
The next thing you need to do is to set a specific budget. Try to devote at least 10% of your entire wedding budget for the gown. Do not forget to include the shoes, veil, jewelry, and other wedding accessories in your budget.
With these three simple tips, you can easily pick out the perfect wedding dresses that can make your special day more memorable than it already is.
